Ii. Quark Condensates in Nuclear Matter
We summarize the current theoretical and experimental status of the spectral changes of vector mesons (ρ, ω, φ) at finite baryon density. Various approaches including QCD sum rules, effective theory of hadrons and bag models show decreasing of the vector meson masses in nuclear matter. Possibility to detect the mass shift through lepton pairs in γ −A, p− A and A− A reactions are also discussed.
متن کاملNuclear quantum transport for barrier problems
A method is presented which allows one to introduce collective coordinates selfconsistently, in distinction to the Caldeira-Leggett model. It is demonstrated how the partition function Z for the total nuclear system can be calculated to deduce information both on its level density as well as on the decay rate of unstable modes. For the evaluation of Z different approximations are discussed. A r...
متن کاملRotating Matter Waves in Bose-Einstein Condensates
In this paper we consider analytically and numerically the dynamics of waves in twodimensional, magnetically trapped Bose-Einstein condensates in the weak interaction limit. In particular, we consider the existence and stability of azimuthally modulated structures such as rings, multi-poles, soliton necklaces, and vortex necklaces. We show how such structures can be constructed from the linear ...
متن کاملQuantum Vacuum in Hot Nuclear Matter – A Nonperturbative Treatment
We derive the equation of state for hot nuclear matter using Walecka model in a nonperturbative formalism. We include here the vacuum polarisation effects arising from the nucleon and scalar mesons through a realignment of the vacuum. A ground state structure with baryon-antibaryon condensates yields the results obtained through the relativistic Hartree approximation (RHA) of summing baryonic t...
متن کاملThe Use of Quantum Groups in Nuclear Structure Problems
Various applications of quantum algebraic techniques in nuclear structure physics, such as the suq(2) rotator model and its extensions, the use of deformed bosons in the description of pairing correlations, and the construction of deformed exactly soluble models (Interacting Boson Model, Moszkowski model) are briefly reviewed. Emphasis is put in the study of the symmetries of the anisotropic qu...
